Wondering what it’s like to work at Macrium?
Every day we get to:
- Collaborate with intelligent, driven people across the whole company. We’re small enough that all departments can easily work together, but big enough to actually get stuff done.
- Create important software that protects vital services, global enterprises, educational institutions, and even that novel you’ve been meaning to finish.
- Experience a great work/life balance, including flexible work-from-home policies.
- Enjoy a social atmosphere with team breakfasts, stocked kitchen, fun competitions, and of course, our in-office bar, The Backup Plan!
Room to grow
While we’ve been around for over a decade, internally we still feel like we’re just getting started. There are big plans for the future, both in terms of what the company is doing and what we can offer. We believe that Macrium’s success should be measured by the success of our team. That’s why we proudly offer a generous benefits package, internal awards, and a supportive atmosphere.
Interested in joining us?
We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join us, so if you think you’d be a good fit and don’t see an open opportunity below, feel free to still get in touch!
Living in Manchester
Spend a weekend in Manchester and you’ll quickly realize, it’s not grim up north. Sure, the weather can leave something to be desired, but with so much to do and see, I promise you won’t even notice. Unsurprisingly, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution is also home to a variety of scientific breakthroughs like splitting the first atom, the first stored program computer, the first law of thermodynamics, and so much more. But to live here?
There’s too many things I want to share with you, so I’ll just stick to things within walking distance of the Macrium Manchester offices.
For food and drink, you can’t beat the variety and quality of Hatch. Home to 30 independent traders, you’ll find this award-winning gem safely tucked under the Mancunian Way. I’m pretty sure it’s the only place you can get a tattoo, learn how to DJ, have your hair cut, eat some Brazilian soul food, and top it all off with cheesecake on a stick!
Film, art, and theatre your thing? Look no further than HOME. Here, you’ll find exhibits from David Lynch to local creators, including interactive and immersive art. Are you the type who likes blockbuster films and underground indie arthouse cinema? Welcome home. And for all those passionate discussions and debates afterwards, I highly recommend the downstairs bar.
For many, Manchester is synonymous with music, and when you’re in the mood for a live gig, you’re spoiled for choice. Sure, the Arena is fine for those big names, but the O2 Ritz has a special kind of vibe. Not too big, not too small, and always a good night.
And I know I said I’d stick to things within walking distance, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out something for our outdoor enthusiasts. Manchester is perfectly positioned near the Peak District, accessible by train for lovely weekend hikes out in nature. And we’re a short drive away from the Lake District as well, if you’re feeling more adventurous.
