The Linux Rescue Environment

The Linux rescue environment is extremely compact (less than 10 MB) and requires very little PC memory to run. However, for most RAID systems it is only possible to recover partitions using the Windows PE environment.

At start-up the Linux operating system will detect all locally attached disk drives and network cards. Network cards will be initialized by DHCP if possible (an IP address will be assigned automatically). If you find that some devices are not detected then try 'compatibility mode' and build a new CD.

The system will boot immediately into the 'Restore Wizard' to allow you to recover individual partitions from your saved image files.
