Create a bootable rescue CD
If you computer refuses to boot or load Windows, or if you are trying to restore an image to a partition the Reflect cannot lock (See here), then you will have to start your PC using a rescue CD or boot into the Windows PE recovery environment.
The Macrium rescue CD uses either Linux, BartPE or Windows PE 2.0 (Vista).
To burn the CD:
The following dialog is displayed:
Linux This rescue CD uses a small and efficient version of the Linux operating system to start your PC and detect attached local and remote hard drives and computers. It also offers support for Mouse and Keyboard with USB, PS/2 and wireless connections. Using this CD you will be able to locate and restore any partition(s) saved on attached drives in minutes.

BartPE A BartPE boot CD is generated using PE-Builder. PE-Builder uses your existing 32 Bit Windows XP, Server 2003 system files to create a bootable rescue environment that can host a Reflect plug-in. PE-Builder is not a Macrium supplied or supported product but full installation and usage instruction can be found at the PE-Builder web site here: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
Updates Click to check for a newer version of the plug-in.
Select Directory Choose the plug-in directory for your PE-Builder installation, this is normally 'C:\PEBuilder3110a\plugin'.
Click 'Finish' to copy the plug-in files to the chosen directory. Once the files have been copied just build your BartPE CD as normal and the Reflect menu option will be added to the BartPE main menu.
Windows PE This uses a cut down version of the Windows Vista operating system licensed from Microsoft. Additional utilities are available with this CD, such as repairing the boot process and a Explorer like program to copy or move files on your local disks. You can also mount backup images and only restore the files that you need. See here for more information.
Updates Click to check for updates to the Windows PE recovery environment. This will also update the Windows boot menu environment.
