Paramount Software Releases v4.2 of Macrium Reflect
 
Paramount Software has released v4.2 of its PC backup and recovery software ‘Macrium Reflect’.
 
Macrium Reflect gives PC users the ability to image their hard disks or backup individual files and folders to protect themselves from a hard disk crash or accidental file deletion. If Windows can’t be started then either a Linux or a Windows PE 2.0 based bootable recovery CD can initiate a ‘Bare Metal’ restore.
 
As well as disk imaging and file backup, Macrium Reflect has features not found elsewhere in the SOHO backup software market. Backup definitions can be stored as easily edited XML files. These files can be used to start backups with a simple mouse click or added to keyboard soft keys. Macrium Reflect also includes a VBScript generator that gives full control of the backup process using Microsoft’s Windows Scripting Host (WSH).
 
“We designed the VBScript generator so that customers with no scripting experience could easily use and extend Reflects’ functionality” said Paramount Software managing director Nick Sills.
